Sleep Country PJ Bowl

For the nearly 20,000 foster children living in the Northwest, each day presents new challenges. But with the community’s help, these children can regain a sense of hope.

Funds raised by Pajama Bowl participants will be used to provide resources, and little wishes that foster kids often go without – whether it's a funding athletic participation fees, obtaining assistance in school, or reuniting with a sibling at summer camp.

Since its inception, Pajama Bowl has raised over $900,000 for foster kids, thanks to the generous support of over 6,500 participants! Click here for locations and dates!

Concordia University Respite Day

For parents and guardians of children with special needs, finding time to do something as simple as go to a movie, read a book, or run errands can be a challenge. To give these caregivers a much-needed “respite,” Concordia University’s College of Health and Human Services is hosting its fourth annual Respite Day on Saturday, March 7, noon to 4:30pm at the Concordia University Gymnasium on NE 27th Avenue in Portland. Open to special needs children (and their siblings) ages 3 to 14. One-on-one, personal support for each child will be provided by Concordia University student volunteers majoring in nursing, exercise sports and science, health care administration, social work, and education, along with members of the Concordia faculty. Pre-registration is required and is limited to the first 60 people. Click here for more information.
